Dune lined jacket tutorial (free downloadable parts)

Tuto veste Dune doublée (pièces en téléchargement gratuit) - Joli Lab

jacket from a nice lab

Dune is our pretty short jacket, a slightly loose but not too loose model, which goes wonderfully with the most beautiful jacquards.

We created it for sunny days but we wanted to be able to wear it all year round . We had the fabric, all it needed was a lining to become an essential piece in our autumn wardrobe.

Good news if like us you are a little chilly, we offer you the lining pieces (graded from 34 to 46) and we give you all the useful information to make it. If you do not yet have the pattern, you can find it here .

A little tip before cutting the pieces: don't hesitate to sew Dune one size larger than your usual size, to compensate for the addition of the lining and to be able to wear it with your biggest sweaters.

Please note that the lining has an impact on certain assembly steps:

  • If you chose option B with drawstring, you will need to attach the drawstring to the right side of the jacket before assembling the lining (and not at the end as indicated in the booklet).

When you have completed the first 6 steps of assembling the jacket (see booklet), do not sew the sleeves onto the open jacket , instead put them aside, you will place them at the very end on the body of the lined jacket. Close the sides of the jacket and overlock the seam allowances. Then follow our video tutorial for making the lining.

You now have all the useful information to make a lined Dune jacket for this fall. And if like us you fall for this magnificent jacquard by Studio Walkie Talkie, you can find it on the e-shop in our sewing kit.

Happy sewing and see you soon on the blog!
